A residential Aged Care report in Australia identified there are only 82.8 aged care places for every 1,000 people aged over 70 in Australia.
Over the next 15 years the total population aged over 80 years will increase by over 300% and the number of seniors will increase by 1.6 million – a jump of 5% of the total population of Australia.
Over the next 5 years there will be an additional 200,000 seniors and another 350,000 the following 5 years. The vast majority will be needing retirement and aged care communities.
